Savor the City Culinary Tours

Hello Foodie Friends,
It seems as though every time I sit down to write another blog, I am always apologizing for the long gaps in between. Well this time, it is because I have been a very busy girl starting up my newest foodie adventure: Savor the City Culinary Tours. We launched our first tour, "Taste Atlantic Avenue" in Delray Beach on Saturday, May 3rd with 8 tour participants. This 3 hour historical walking tour takes our foodie participants, both locals and tourists alike, up and down "The Ave" where we get to sample food and drinks from four restaurants and two gourmet specialty shops. In addition to the above mentioned stops, we also step back in time as we step into one of the town's oldest historical landmarks. While strolling from stop to stop, the tour guide (which at the present is yours truly), shares fun historical facts and anecdotes obtained through interviewing the historian at the Delray Beach Historical Society and from interviews with private residents, one of which is a direct descendant from one of the earliest of settlers in the community, dating back to around 1910.

"The Taste Atlantic Avenue" tour runs every Saturday, year round from 11am - 2pm. The ticket price is $65. We are running a promotion currently for tickets and gift certificates purchased by the end of May. Use Promo code: STCL1 to save $15 off each ticket. Go to: www.SavorTheCity.info or call 800-979-3370 for more info or to purchase your tickets. Contact me at info@savorthecity.info or 954-410-3177 if you wish to purchase gift certificates.

Our "Pineapple Grove" tour will be starting up next month (Thursday, June 19th) in conjunction with Artists Alley, whereby the local artists open their Studios & Galleries to the public on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 5pm to 8pm. Pineapple Grove Arts District is located just off Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Delray Beach. Our distinctive 3-hour walking tour through this district will take us through an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, boutiques, galleries and entertainment venues where we are sure to encounter numerous working artists creating exciting public artwork, while tasting delicious works from local culinary artisans throughout the district.

What makes Savor the City Culinary tours unique is that we have chosen neighborhoods/districts that are 100% walkable and we provide not only historical facts, but  interject fun and interesting anecdotes and stories obtained through interviewing long time residents as well as the historian from the historical society.  Led by founder Denise Righetti and her team of knowledgeable foodies & wine enthusiasts – many with hospitality, culinary and/or food blogging backgrounds – these gourmet adventures take both local foodies and visitors alike behind-the-scenes into each city's hot culinary communities, where they will be introduced to delicious savory treasures and sweet gems one bite at a time. A typical tour will include sample cuisines from four restaurants and two gourmet specialty shops. An example of some of the foods sampled on this tour may include a gourmet burger and truffle fries from an American Gastropub, chicken souvlaki from a Greek Taverna, ultra premium extra virgin olive oils & balsamic vinegars from around the globe, an authentic Philly steak sandwich, Pontano Arugula Salad and finally, something to satisfy that sweet tooth.

Included with the tour, each guest will receive a complimentary map and an insert highlighting every stop on the tour, with the names of each place, the address, their hours, what foods were sampled, with special offers.
Again, Go to: www.SavorTheCity.info or call 800-979-3370 for more info or to purchase your tickets. Contact me at info@savorthecity.info or 954-410-3177 if you wish to purchase gift certificates.

 Until we eat again...
I send you delicious wishes, xo
